Spring window maintenance tips from the fitting team
A short seasonal service keeps hinges, seals and drainage slots working and helps you spot problems early.
Clear drainage holes at the bottom of uPVC frames, wipe seals gently, and check that opening lights latch without force. Grit from winter winds is a common culprit around Teesside.
Avoid petroleum-based sprays on rubber gaskets. A manufacturer-approved lubricant on hinges and keepers is usually enough.
If a window still misaligns after cleaning and lubrication, the hinge or gearbox may need attention. We can advise whether a service visit or replacement makes more sense.
