Patio doors: repair or replace?
Sliding patio doors take hard use. Knowing when a service will do — and when replacement is kinder — saves money.
Rollers, locks and seals can often be serviced if the frames are still square and the glass is clear. Stiff movement alone does not always mean a full replacement.
If the outer frame has warped, the threshold is rotten, or multiple sealed units have misted, a new doorset usually gives a cleaner, warmer result.
We assess patio doors as part of ordinary survey visits. Bring up any catching or draughts when we measure and we will give a straight recommendation.
