Condensation on windows: what it usually means
Moisture on glass is common in UK homes, but the location of the water tells you whether the sealed unit has failed.
Condensation on the room side of the glass is often about everyday moisture — showers, cooking and drying clothes — meeting a cold surface. Better ventilation and trickle vents help.
Mist between the panes of a double-glazed unit means the seal has failed. That unit will not recover on its own and usually needs replacing.
We can inspect affected windows during a free survey and advise whether single units can be swapped or whether frames should be renewed at the same time.
